What is xaga
xaga is an engine for building narrative universes: worlds with their own characters, places, objects, and the stories that happen inside them.
It handles the part that usually collapses under its own weight: keeping a universe coherent. Who knows whom, what happened where, which version of a character belongs to which era. Structure comes from classic story frameworks; the world stays yours.
The result is a story you can assemble piece by piece, inside a universe that remembers everything.
Updates
MVP in progress
Turning the prototype into something other people can use. The work now is the authoring side — placing hotspots without writing coordinates, and giving the world enough memory to hold a story together.
Building the prototype
The design stopped being a document and started being software. First working prototype: panoramas you can look around, hotspots you can click, and scenes that connect into something you can move through.
Where it started
xaga began as a question: what would it take for one person to build a world you can actually walk through? The year went into answering it on paper — defining what the engine had to do, and designing how authoring a 360° story should feel.
